The state-run Boryspil International Airport (Kyiv) has started the process of transfering airlines to Terminal D.

The press service of the Infrastructure Ministry of Ukraine said that
from September 1 Fly Dubai, Turkish Airlines, as well as the new
airline Air One would be transferred to the new terminal.

In addition, KLM and Air France will start servicing their passengers
in Terminal D from October 10, and Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines from
October 27.

“From the beginning of winter navigation on October 28, 2012
passengers of Alitalia, Aeroflot, Czech Airlines, Air Baltic, ELAL,
Royal Jordanian Airlines, and Uzbekistan Airways will be serviced at the
new terminal,” reads the statement.

Terminal D already services regular flights of Norwegian Air Shuttle
and Air Arabia. In addition, the new terminal’s VIP sector services VIP
passengers of all airlines from August 1.

For comfortable transportation of passengers between terminals in the
airport, the interval between shuttle bus services will be reduced to
three minutes during the day, and to ten minutes at night.

Terminal D is the largest one in Ukraine and can service up to 15
million passengers per year. Its area is 107,000 square meters.

The construction of the terminal lasted from November 2008 until May 2012.

Boryspil International Airport is the main airport of the country and
services 65% of passenger air traffic in Ukraine. It is the only
airport in Ukraine from which transcontinental flights are performed.

Boryspil International Airport has two runways – one 4,000 meters
long and 60 meters wide, and another 3,500 meters long and 63 meters
wide.
