The Foreign Ministry of Israel recommends its citizens to abide by Ukrainian laws while visiting the temporary occupied Crimea and doing business there, Ambassador of Israel to Ukraine Eliav Belotserkovsky has stressed.

“We have a very clear position on Crimea – we constantly disseminate information that those companies which enter Crimean market in violation of Ukrainian legislation and do business there commit a crime, according to Ukrainian law. Most of people in Israel know that,” the ambassador said at a press conference in Kyiv on Jan. 19.

The diplomat, however, recognized that private companies do not always follow the governmental recommendations, “thereby assuming all the risks.”

“It is very difficult to have a 100 percent control, however, our task is to inform people and companies that their behavior might be punished,” Belotserkovsky added.
