The Prosecutor General's Office is openly manipulating the facts about protests in Kyiv, UDAR Party leader Vitali Klitschko has said, while commenting on a speech delivered by Prosecutor General Viktor Pshonka in parliament.

“We all witnessed that the Prosecutor General’s Office is
manipulating the facts. What took place today again confirms that
neither the courts nor the prosecutor’s office will ever have the
support of the people, because they are engaged in manipulations,”
UDAR’s press service quoted him as telling reporters in the Verkhovna
Rada on Friday.

Klitschko said that the prosecutor’s office had presented
manipulative videos in the parliament’s session hall in order to show
that the protesters are allegedly to blame for what happened. He said
that this again shows that the government is not planning to bring those
responsible to justice.

He noted that almost all clashes had been provoked by young athletic men working for the authorities.

“I have repeatedly seen how stones were being hurled from behind
police officers at peaceful protesters. And the stones were thrown by
people in civilian clothes,” Klitschko said.
