Ukraine's foreign guests in general positively evaluate the transport infrastructure of Ukraine, Ukrainian Vice Premier and Infrastructure Minister Borys Kolesnikov has said.

“I think we should rely on foreign evaluations, and they are positive in general,” the press service of the Infrastructure Ministry cited Kolesnikov as saying.

During a conference entitled “Italy & Ukraine: Building Together” in Kyiv on Wednesday, he said foreign and Ukrainian passengers should assess the transport infrastructure.

According to him, Ukraine’s preparations for the Euro 2012 European Football championship were a strong incentive for the large-scale modernization of roads, railways, and aircraft.

“I would like to draw your attention to what was done in Ukraine to develop infrastructure. As you know, as part of the preparations for Euro 2012, Ukraine built five airports and four new runways, and in addition, a significant part of its railways and highways were modernized,” Kolesnikov said.
