The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has supported an initiative to pay pensions to parents with five or more children.

The idea is stipulated in a bill amending Article 1 of the law of
Ukraine on pensions for merits before Ukraine regarding payment of
pensions to parents that brought up five or more children.

Ukraine’s Social Policy Minister Natalia Korolevska explained that
the document envisages the right to receive pensions for merits before
Ukraine only for mothers that gave birth to five or more children and
brought them up until they are six years old.

“It [the bill] will deliver social fairness to such parents,” the
press service of the Social Policy Ministry cited Korolevska as saying.

If the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine’s parliament, passes the bill some Hr 1.4 million will be spent on its implementation in 2014.
