The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has announced that technical agreements were reached concerning the delivery of the humanitarian aid sent by Russia.

“A number of technical agreements were secured that will help bring the Russian side’s actions within a certain framework controllable by Ukraine and international institutions, including the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the OSCE (Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe),” the Ukrainian ministry said.

All customs clearance procedures and border control for the cargo will be handled by Ukraine’s authorized agencies in accordance with Ukrainian laws with assistance and oversight on the part of the ICRC and the OSCE, it said.

The sides agreed that all humanitarian supplies would be delivered to their point of destination exclusive by ICRC teams, the ministry said.

“The committee will also be responsible for all logistical aspects concerning the storage and distribution of this aid,” it said.

“The trilateral Contact Group will play a key role in negotiating all security aspects and concrete routes for the trucks carrying the humanitarian aid,” the ministry said.
