The Economic Court of Kyiv has satisfied a lawsuit of the Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) of Ukraine and declared illegal instructions by Kyiv City Council to transfer free of charge into private ownership land plots 302.79 hectares in area to the Tekhnoloh, Osvitianyn, and Sotsbudivnytstvo cooperatives for housing construction.

According to a posting on the PGO’s Web site, checks uncovered numerous violations of the legislation in 2007 by the abovementioned cooperatives while receiving land plots in Holosiivsky district in Kyiv.

According to the information, an instruction of Kyiv City Council dated Oct. 1, 2007 transferred a land plot 302.79 hectares in area, in violation of the Land Code of Ukraine.

Of this area, 220.99 hectares went free of charge into private ownership for housing construction, and 81.8 hectares were rented long-term for recreation purpose.

Then the organizations passed the land plots to the statutory capital of another organization.

According to the PGO’s calculations, in general, the Economic Court of Kyiv has cancelled illegal permits from Kyiv City Council on handing more than 960 hectares of recreational land worth more than Hr 1.3 billion over to organizations.
