You're reading: Kyiv police detain topless FEMEN activists outside football stadium

A protest organized by the FEMEN movement was held near Olympiysky National Sports Complex in Kyiv on Tuesday morning.

Several topless young women with placards, "Euro 2012 without prostitution" held the protest outside the entrance to the stadium.

The protest is timed to coincide with the visit by UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) President Michel Platini, who is inspecting Ukraine’s preparations for the European football cup.

On Tuesday, Platini was due to visit Olympiysky National Sports Complex.

Several female protestors were detained, put into a police van and driven away.
