“Every month the Kyiv Regional Customs Office transfers about Hr 2
billion to the budget, and in the first half this year we transferred
about Hr 12 billion,” Kyiv Regional Customs Chief Dmytro Polischuk said
at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine on July 23.

He added that from January through June 2012 the Kyiv customs office
registered 131 million tonnes of cargo, including 27 million tonnes for
import, 3 million tonnes for export, and 101 million tonnes for transit.

In the first half of 2012, the Kyiv Regional Customs Office handled
cargo imported from 171 countries and exported to 130 countries. Russia,
China, Germany, Italy, Poland, and France remain major importers.
Exporter countries were mainly Russia, Belarus, Hungary, Kazakhstan, and
Cyprus.
