Kyiv has reported new attacks on Ukrainian army positions in Donbas.

Avdiyivka was shelled by mortars, and the hostiles were using grenade launchers, small arms and sniper weapons in other parts of the Donetsk sector, the anti-terrorist operation press center wrote on Facebook.

“Twenty attacks on our forces were observed as of 2 p.m.” in Donbas, the Ukrainian staff said.

Militants fired mortars again at about 9 a.m. on Friday, against Ukrainian army positions in the Avdiyivka industrial zone, the report said. “The sole purpose of using the forbidden weapons is to prompt [the army] to return fire, in particular, and to bring Ukrainian artillery, tanks and mortars back to the frontline. In adherence to the Minsk agreements, our servicemen are using only small-caliber weapons in the deterrence of attacks,” the Ukrainian staff said.

The hostiles used various types of grenade launchers, small arms and sniper weapons in other areas of the Donetsk sector (near Pisky, Luhanske, Novhorodske and Opytne). This tactic is also characteristic of the hostiles operating in the Mariupol and Luhansk sectors: random fire of militants towards Novotroitske and Novozvanivka has been observed, the staff said.
