The number of militant attacks on Ukrainian positions in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) zone in Donbas from 00:00 to 18:00 Kyiv time on Monday, May 30, declined to five, the ATO headquarters (HQ) reported on May 30.

“The situation in the ATO zone remains uneasy amid a considerable decline in the number of attacks. Five attacks were recorded today,” the ATO HQ wrote in an update on Facebook on May 30 evening.

In particular, Russian-backed militants used 120mm mortars at night to shell Ukrainian positions near the villages of Verkhniotoretske and Novobakhmutivka, while small arms were fired on areas near the town of Krasnohorivka. At about 06:00 local time, militants used small arms and automatic grenade launchers to shell the village of Talakivka. The village of Novotroyitske came under militant fire from small arms and large-caliber machine-guns, the ATO HQ said.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine adhered to the Minsk peace agreements and did not fire back.
