Moscow - Possible supplies by the United States of lethal weapons to Kyiv would only aggravate the situation in southeast Ukraine, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.

“Seeing how the Ukrainian authorities have been trying to resolve the so-called problem of the southeast, I think such decisions would directly add oil to fire and ignite the belligerent and uncompromising instincts of Ukrainian leaders,” Lavrov told a press conference in Moscow on Monday, July 28.

“Evidence is multiplying that these lethal weapons that Ukraine already has are being used absolutely indiscriminately,” Lavrov said, adding that “this causes suffering to civilians.”
