Head of the special investigations department of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine (PGO) Serhiy Horbatiuk has said that defense lawyers of former president of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych have submitted to court their client's testimony in the case of the killing of Euromaidan activists at the Instytutska Street in Kyiv.

“The materials have been attached to the case,” Horbatiuk told Interfax-Ukraine on May 17.

Sviatoshynsky District Court of Kyiv is considering criminal proceedings against several former officers of Berkut riot police charged with killing of 48 Euromaidan activists in Kyiv.

At its previous sitting, the court granted the petition of lawyer Oleksand Horoshynsky about the possibility to interrogate Yanukovych via a video conference. The lawyer presented to the court a video recording of the conversation with Yanukovych in Moscow, in which the ex-president says that he is ready to testify.
