Yevheniya Carr, the daughter of former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, is currently not planning to ask for a political asylum in another country, Tymoshenko's defense lawyer, Serhiy Vlasenko, has said.

"Zhenia [Yevheniya Carr] – not yet. But if the pressure on her grows, and if the government goes mad and starts persecuting not only the husband, but also the daughter of Yulia Volodymyrivna [Tymoshenko], we will respond properly," Vlasenko told reporters on Friday near the Kachanivska penal colony in Kharkiv, in which Tymoshenko is being held.

As reported, Tymoshenko’s husband, Oleksandr, who is now in the Czech Republic, has asked for political asylum in that country.

According to the Czech newspaper Pravo, Tymoshenko submitted a respective application in the last few days of 2011.
