There is no huge growth of prices for hotels and other accommodation places because of the holding of Euro 2012 in Ukraine this summer, Director of UEFA Euro 2012 in Ukraine Markiyan Lubkivsky has said.

"There is no growth by 100%, or 1000% – that’s fiction. There is an inevitable growth of prices, it was seen in Austria and Switzerland before Euro 2008, and today in London, which will host the summer Olympic games, where the growth of hotel prices totals 500%. We’re analyzing [prices], talk to colleagues, nothing unusual is happening in Ukraine. There were definite cases, but today prices haven’t grown to the levels people are talking about," he said at a press conference in Kyiv.

As he also said reports in the foreign mass media that the contracts concluded with Ukrainian hotels are being broken in a massive scale, and that students will be forcibly evicted from hostels to free up places for Euro 2012, are untrue. In particular, according to him, the TUI Travel company has signed a contract with the new owner of the Slavutych hotel.

"Today we have no problem hotels, with which we couldn’t come to terms," the head of the Euro 2012 local organizing committee in Ukraine said.

Lubkivsky pointed out that the number of rooms reserved by TUI Travel for UEFA target groups exceeded the needs of UEFA, and from March 1 the rest of the free rooms were offered to. It is possible to reserve them at www.aa-euro2012.com.

The Euro-2012 director in Ukraine said the price band of rooms for European fans is moderate and affordable. In particular, Kyiv holiday centers are offering rooms from EUR 11 to EUR 106 per day, hostels – EUR 17-79, uncategorized hotels – EUR 31-70, two-star hotels – EUR 29-70, three and four-star – EUR 25-265. Holiday centers in Donetsk are offering rooms from EUR 64 to EUR 106 per day, hostels – EUR 10-15, uncategorized hotels EUR 35-106, two-star hotels – EUR 68-118, three-star hotels – EUR 60-142. Lviv has rooms in holiday centers for EUR 53-122 per day, hostels – EUR 21-56, two-star hotels – EUR 27-140, three-star hotels – EUR 52-136 per day, four-star hotels – EUR 164-297. Kharkiv hostels cost EUR 26-55 per day, uncategorized hotels – EUR 26-171, two-star hotels – EUR 30-88, three-star hotels – EUR 58-122.
