Director of UEFA Euro 2012 in Ukraine Markiyan Lubkivsky has said that Ukrainian stadiums that will host the Euro 2012 European Football Championship matches are working to meet UEFA's standards of service.

"Today we noted the significant improvement in the operational management of the stadiums. There were many sceptics and pessimists. Although there were only 24,000 visitors at the last match of Kyiv FC Dynamo at the Olympiysky National Sports Complex, the situation is different in many directions from the situation we saw during the first matches. The Donbas Arena and the Metalist stadiums are models today, even for Polish stadiums," he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Thursday.

He added that there are still some problems with the stadium in Lviv.

"We regret that Lviv FC Karpaty has refused to play at this arena, but this is the club’s decision, and we respect it. I believe that Karpaty will return to this stadium. Matches with participation of Karpaty and other clubs, such as FC Lviv, are very important to us, as they give us an opportunity to try out the stadium. Every event on the stadium is as precious as gold for us today. We could see where we have problems and how the personnel copes with its tasks," Lubkivsky said.

"In general, standards of operation activities at the stadiums are closer to UEFA standards, which are very high," he added.
