Moscow - Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has confirmed the Russian Customs Service's strategy through 2020, the government press service has reported.

The strategy aims to perfect customs services with due account taken of Russia’s switch to the innovative principles of economic development, integration with the world economy, and new scope, character and forms of foreign trade.

The Strategy defines the most effective methods of accomplishing customs-related tasks in compliance with international standards and Russian law.

It lists the main tasks, forms and content of customs services until 2020, and sets a single system of priorities and target indicators for the monitoring of the goals defined.

The Strategy will provide the groundwork for working out customs policy solutions, for drafting state programs and developing a single understanding of the customs services’ role and prospects.

The Strategy will be implemented on the basis of a single interagency action plan.
