Former officer of the presidential security guard Mykola Melnychenko has said that the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine is planning to hold a face-to-face questioning between him and a number of officials.

"I expect that today they will be questioning me further concerning a few episodes, making certain clarifications, since the prosecution is preparing very carefully, in particular to face-to-face questionings not only with Leonid Danylovich (ex-president Kuchma), but also with other high officials of Ukraine, who either held or are holding posts in Ukraine," Melnychenko told reporters on Friday before another visit to the central investigation department of the General Prosecutor’s Office.

When asked whether he will be questioned about the murder of journalist Georgy Gongadze, Melnychenko expressed hope that this will not be the case on Gongadze’s murder, but the case against Kuchma. In addition, he said that the Prosecutor General’s Office has scheduled a face-to-face confrontation between him and Kuchma for 1000 on Monday, April 4.
