Ukrainian military Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) has arrested Hr 480 million worth of property of a suspect - former first deputy chairman of the State Fiscal Service and head of the tax police of Ukraine Andriy Holovach - and members of his family.

“The total approximate cost of property arrested by military PGO is almost Hr 480 million, including Hr 468 million worth of real estate and Hr 10 million worth of movable property,” the press service of Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office reported on Sept. 14.

The investigation is being conducted into facts of unlawful refunding of over Hr 3 billion worth of VAT to companies under control of former officials of Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych’s times, ex-prime minister Mykola Azarov and Tax and Income Minister Oleksandr Klymenko (Article 209 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – legalizing (laundering) proceeds from crime).

PGO said that the property that was legalized by the suspect was seized.
