The main objective of Ukraine's foreign policy in 2013 is the deepening of integration with the European Union, the desire to achieve the level of the democratic development of countries in Europe and enter the European market, a member of the Party of Regions faction in parliament, MP Yuriy Miroshnychenko, has said.

In 2013 it is planned to hold such important events for Ukrainian-EU relations as the EU-Ukraine summit in Brussels and the Eastern Partnership summit in Vilnius, during which the sides are expected to sign the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement. Moreover, the year 2013 is the period of Ukraine’s presidency of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), Miroshnychenko’s press service reported, citing the MP.

In his opinion, Ukraine’s success in the sphere of foreign policy will depend on the consolidation of all political parties and their motivation to deepen external relations with Europe and the world.

“I hope that the Verkhovna Rada of the seventh convocation will act effectively and for the benefit of the Ukrainian nation and its European future,” the politician said.

As reported, the EU-Ukraine summit will be held in Brussels on February 25, 2013.
