You're reading: New government won’t cancel pension reform – Yatseniuk

The new Ukrainian government will not take any populist decision, in particular the abolition of pension reform, said newly appointed prime minister Arseniy Yatseniuk  said.

“We won’t take any populist decision, as the state coffers are empty. Questions as the cancellation of the pension reform or other
issues cannot be on the agenda, as it is a lie and we’re not going to
lie to the people,” he said when opening a new government meeting.

The main task is the payment of the current salaries and pensions, as
this is the sphere where problems are going to appear, he added.
