Kyiv, December 24 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Brussels wants to initial the association agreement with Ukraine on February 15, 2012, but only the English version of the document, the Dzerkalo Tyzhnia (Mirror Weekly) newspaper has reported, citing its own sources.

According to the newspaper, Brussels has announced a tentative date – February 15.

According to the sources, the agreement has yet to be technically completed.

On Thursday, December 22, the Ukrainian government’s commissioner for European integration, Valery Piatnytsky, flew to Brussels to speed up the technical revision of the sections of the agreement on a free trade area.

On December 23, First Deputy Prime Minister Andriy Kliuyev said that the technical verification of the text of the draft association agreement between Ukraine and the EU in terms of the creation of a deep and comprehensive free trade area was completed on December 22. After the verification, a protocol was signed by the heads of the delegations of the two sides – Piatnytsky and Director of the European Commission’s Directorate for Public Procurement, Intellectual Property and Bilateral Trade Relations Rupert Schlegelmilch.
