You're reading: Official: Lutsenko meeting with German human rights commissioner in Kyiv

Former Ukrainian interior minister Yuriy Lutsenko is currently meeting with German Government Commissioner for Human Rights Markus Loening in an emergency hospital in Kyiv, according to the press secretary of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine, Marharyta Velkova.

The German official has already visited Kyiv pre-trial detention center, where Lutsenko was held before his transfer to the hospital, she said at a briefing in Kyiv on April 12.

As reported, the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine received on April 2 a request from the German Embassy to facilitate a meeting of the German ombudsman with the former interior minister on April 10-12. The Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine issued such permission.
