Oil transit through Ukraine to Europe fell 20.4 percent or 1.378 million tonnes in January-May 2016 year-on-year to 5.259 million tonnes, Ukraine's Energy and Coal Industry Ministry has reported.

Crude oil transportation to Ukrainian oil refineries over the period reached 582,800 tonnes. This is 17 percent or 119,400 tonnes less than in January-May 2015.

Oil transit via Ukraine to Europe increased by 0.9 percent in 2015, in comparison with 2014, to 15.154 million tonnes. Oil transportation by Ukrtransnafta’s pipelines in 2015 decreased by 0.6 percent, to 16.76 million tonnes.

The operator of Ukraine’s oil transportation system is Ukrtransnafta, 100 percent of which are managed by Naftogaz Ukrainy.
