About 200 people are picketing the building of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Thursday, demanding that the sale of land be banned.

An Interfax-Ukraine reporter said that a rally was being conducted by the Kyiv branch of the Svoboda Party.

The rally participants hung banners reading "Land is the last stage of privatization," "Ukraine, do you need free farmers, the Cossacks, or serfs?" and "Kherson region against the land market."

In addition, the participants in the rally also brought a cow to the building of the Verkhovna Rada from the side of the Mariinsky Park, and they were met by a double cordon of Berkut police officers.

The protesters said that they presented the cow as a gift to MP Oleh Liashko.

Liashko, in turn, said: "This is my cow. I want to bring it to the Verkhovna Rada."

Later, Liashko, along with MP Ivan Zayets, brought the cow out, accompanied by law enforcers.
