POLTAVA - The opposition in Poltava has urged local residents to hold a rally in defense of the Ukrainian language starting at 1800 on the square near the regional administration building.

Signatures will be collected under a petition defending the Ukrainian language.

On July 4, representatives of the opposition parties UDAR, Svoboda
All-Ukrainian Union, Front for Change and Batkivschyna started an
indefinite protest action and put up a tented camp of about 200
participants near the regional administration building.
