You're reading: Over Hr 98.6 million sent to accounts of Defense Ministry to support Ukrainian army

Over Hr 98.6 million has been sent to the accounts of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry as a part of a public fund-raising campaign to support Ukrainian Army, Deputy Defense Minister Petro Mekhed has said. 

“As of April 12, over Hr 98.6 million has been sent from companies and individuals to the accounts of the Defense Ministry as a part of the action “Support the Ukrainian Army,” he said at a briefing in Kyiv on April 15.

He said that Hr 93.455 is money meant for the material and technical provision, and the rest of the sum for the medical provision of Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Mekhed said that thanks to calls to the 565 phone number, Hr 23.97 million was raised.

“The money will go to the material and technical provision of the Armed Forces,” he said.

He also said that over $56,000 and around EUR 30,000 were sent to the accounts of the ministry.

“The said funds are sent to the special accounts of the Defense Ministry which are opened at the State Treasury Service,” he added.

Mekhed stated that under a proposal of the general staff, Hr 60 million out of Hr 98 million will be sent to buy goods required for Ukrainian Army.
