Brussels – PACE Monitoring Committee has put off consideration of the Ukrainian issue until its next sitting due to a lack of time.

The next sitting will be held as part of the plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, which will take place in Strasbourg on October 1-6, co-rapporteur for Ukraine Marietta de Pourbaix-Lundin told Interfax-Ukraine in an interview.

She explained that the committee had dedicated its sitting completely to the issue of Russia.

The co-rapporteur confirmed her readiness to come to Ukraine in case Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych shows that he is ready to seek a political solution in the current situation.

“We’ll wait until the beginning of the session [of PACE],” she said.

At the same time, the co-rapporteur said that she is planning to visit Ukraine with a pre-election mission on September 19.
