The Ukrainian parliament has passed at first reading cabinet's draft laws No. 4116A on amendments to some Ukrainian laws on the reform of the Ukrainian gas transport system management system and No. 4117A on the special period in the fuel and energy complex.

A total of 229 and 237 lawmakers supported the documents respectively.

Speaker Oleksandr Turchynov said that the bills are to be amended at second reading in line with the proposals of the lawmakers. This concerns the agreeing of participants of the future gas transport system management company by the parliament.

As reported, according to draft law No. 4116A, it is planned to lift restrictions on the leasing of trunk pipelines and underground storage facilities to a company/companies on a chargeable basis, without the right to fulfill the functions of the operator of the gas transport system and/or underground storage facilities.

Draft law No. 4117A empowered the Cabinet of Ministers with the right to send all Ukrainian gas to households during the special period in the fuel and energy complex.
