The Ukrainian parliament has allowed women aged 55 years and older to retire early if they have a 30-year pensionable service.

A total of 256 lawmakers supported the draft law on amendments to the law on obligatory state pension insurance (No. 1086), during a parliamentary session on Wednesday.

The law states that before Jan. 1, 2022, women aged 55 years with a 30-year pensionable service have the right to early retirement only if they leave their jobs. According to Ukrainian law, the women were only allowed to retire early before Jan. 1, 2015.

The law also states that pensioners can submit a salary certificate confirmed by primary documents for any 60 calendar days of the pensionable service valid before July 1, 2000, irrespective of breaks, in order to have the pension calculated. This right can be used until Jan. 1, 2022. It was previously permitted to use this right until Jan. 1, 2016.
