You're reading: Parliament ratifies agreement on free trade between Ukraine, European FTA

The Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, has ratified an agreement on free trade between Ukraine and the member states of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), as well as agreements on agriculture between Ukraine and Norway, Ukraine and Iceland, and Ukraine and Switzerland.

A total of 263 of the 297 MPs registered in parliament voted for the ratification.

The explanatory note to the document reads that the law should be adopted so that an agreement on a free trade area and agreements on agriculture between Ukraine and EFTA states could take effect to create a free trade area between Ukraine and EFTA.
