The condition of former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko is satisfactory, and she is under the constant surveillance of health workers of the State Penitentiary Service and the Health Ministry, the service's press office reported on Tuesday.

A medical examination of Tymoshenko was conducted on Jan. 7, 2012.

"This was due to the fact that on the evening of Jan. 6 this year, Tymoshenko felt unwell and asked her cellmate to call the medical staff of the institution. Primary health care was provided to Tymoshenko in four minutes," reads the report.

On the same day, the leadership of Kachanivska Penal Colony No. 54 asked the Health Ministry and the main department of health at Kharkiv Regional State Administration to set up a commission to conduct Tymoshenko’s medical examination.

On Jan. 7, 2012, at the request of Tymoshenko, she underwent instrument-based and laboratory examinations in a clinical hospital in Kharkiv (magnetic resonance imaging, helical computed tomography, and a complete blood count).

"The results of the examination have confirmed the preliminary findings of a commission of the Ukrainian Health Ministry. Tymoshenko was not diagnosed with diseases requiring additional medical treatment," the press office of the State Penitentiary Service reported.

Earlier, the Batkivschyna Party reported that Tymoshenko was unconscious for over two hours in the Kachanivska penal colony (Kharkiv), after she was given unknown medicines.
