Ukraine's Prosecutor General's Office is checking the lawfulness of pumping of 606,000 tonnes of oil that filled oil pipelines by the operator of Ukrainian oil pipelines – public joint-stock company Ukrtransnafta - to own storage facilities, Prosecutor General Vitaliy Yarema has said.

“We’re checking the lawfulness of pumping this oil and what the
purpose of its further use,” he said at a press conference in Kyiv on
Saturday, Aug. 2.

As reported, as of early June Ukrtransnafta pumped 606,000 tonnes of
crude oil that fills sections of pipelines that are not used for oil
pumping now to its own storage facilities, Kremenchuk oil refinery
(Ukrtatnafta, Poltava region), Drohobych oil refinery (Halychyna, Lviv
region) and Nadvirna oil refinery (Naftokhimik Prykarpattia,
Ivano-Frankivsk region).
