Somali pirates seized the MV Beluga Nomination, a ship with Ukrainian citizens on board, in the Arabian Sea about 100 km from the Seychelles on Monday, Jan. 24, the information policy department of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has reported, citing the Ukrainian Embassy in Britain.The MV Beluga Nomination, a ship flying the flag of Antigua and Barbuda, is operated by Germany’s Beluga Fleet Management GmbH.

The vessel’s crew includes 12 people – citizens of Ukraine, Russia, the Philippines and Poland, and Ukraine’s consulate general in Hamburg (Germany) is currently specifying the number of Ukrainian sailors.
