Viktor Plakida has been appointed permanent representative of the president of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych signed a relevant decree on Tuesday, the presidential press service reported.

As reported, on June 8, 2011, Plakida was appointed acting permanent representative of the president of Ukraine in Crimea.

Plakida already worked as the acting envoy of the president to Crimea from Oct. 13, 2010, until Jan. 12, 2011. In 2006-2010, he headed the Council of Ministers of Crimea.
