WARSAW, Poland (AP) — The prime ministers of Poland and Ukraine say they are on track with preparations to host the 2012 European Championship following long-standing worries over Ukraine's progress.

"Euro 2012 will take place, as planned from the start, in Poland and in Ukraine," Poland’s Donald Tusk said after reviewing preparations with visiting Ukraine Prime Minister Mykola Azarov on Thursday.

Four Polish and four Ukrainian cities will host Euro 2012 matches.

Ukraine has faced delays in construction of stadiums, hotels and other infrastructure.

There was speculation this year that it risked being stripped of hosting rights, but UEFA said in August that both countries were meeting readiness deadlines.
