About 1,800 people participated in the Rise Up, Ukraine! national rally in Khmelnytsky, which began at 1300 on Sunday in the center of the city, the media liaisons department of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry's main office in Khmelnytsky region reported on Sunday.

“Regional police stepped up measures to ensure the safety of citizens
and journalists. A sufficient number of law enforcement officers were
involved in maintaining public order in order to prevent gross
violations of public order,” reads the statement.

As reported, an opposition rally as part of the Rise Up, Ukraine!
national campaign was held on the square outside the building of
Khmelnytsky Regional State Administration, which, according to the
Batkivschyna Party, brought together over 5,000 residents of the city
and the regions. At the same time, according to Svoboda’s press service,
the rally and the march that preceded it gathered about 8,000
participants.

The leaders of the Batkivschyna and Svoboda factions in parliament,
Arseniy Yatseniuk and Oleh Tiahnybok, spoke at the rally. MPs also
attended the event.
