The economy and job security remain the two issues of greatest importance to Ukrainians ahead of the October 28 parliamentary elections, according to a poll conducted by GfK NOP from August 20 to September 1.

According to the poll, the support of political parties remains
consistent with other recent surveys. The Regions Party enjoys the most
support, at 24% of Ukrainians. It is followed by the United Opposition
with 17%, UDAR with 12%, the Communist Party with 8%, and Sovoboda with
3%. Some 24% of respondents remain undecided.

Vitali Klitchko, Arseniy Yatseniuk, and Viktor Yanukovych have the
highest favorability ratings – 55%, 37% and 35% respectively. The other
key issues of concern highlighted by respondents include establishing
stability, law and order in the country, GfK NOP said in its press
release.

A total of 2,967 people in all regions of Ukraine were interviewed for the poll.

Ukraine will hold parliamentary elections on October 28, 2012.
