You're reading: Popov: Kyiv to complete road works by Independence Day

Work on the traffic intersections near Dnipro metro station and on the junction of Nauka Avenue and Stolychne Shosse in Kyiv will be complete by Independence Day, the head of Kyiv City State Administration, Oleksandr Popov, has said.

Moreover, according to him, the building of the highway interchange ramp from the Moscow underpass of the Naddnipryansk Shosse to Vydubychi metro station and a crossover on Sortuvalna Street will also be completed.

First to be completed will be the reconstruction of Bazhan Avenue, on which 2.5 kilometers of road is being resurfaced.

"Mykola Bazhan Avenue is an important traffic route in the city. We want the entrance to the capital from Boryspil airport to be the best one. The avenue will be clean, green and the road covering will meet all of the necessary European standards," the press service of the City State Administration said, quoting Popov.

"It’s very pleasant for me to report that by Independence Day the reconstruction of Lesya Ukrainka Boulevard will be finished. During the reconstruction, the sidewalks were rebuilt, and we plan to place a fountain near the monument to Lesya Ukrainka. I’m sure this will be a nice present for Kyiv’s citizens, as well as for the guests of the capital," he said.
