Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, during a phone call on March 14, informed U.S. Vice President Joe Biden of the current situation in Donbas and discussed the provision of U.S. assistance to Ukraine.

“The parties discussed the state of fulfilling the Minsk Agreements and coordinated positions on further steps, as well as providing U.S. aid – both financial and in the field of military-technical cooperation,” the press service of the Ukrainian president reported.

Poroshenko spoke on the importance of consulting with the UN Security Council on the deployment of peacekeepers in Ukraine.

Poroshenko also emphasized the need for the immediate release of Nadia Savchenko.
