Description:In the framework of his working visit to Washington, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko met with President of Poland Andrzej Duda, the parties agreed plans for further Ukrainian-Polish contacts at the highest level for this year, the press service of the Ukrainian president has said.

Poroshenko noted he expects Poland’s support for the European Commission’s decision on the introduction of a visa-free regime with the European Union.

Special attention was paid to the ways of intensifying dialogue in the context of Ukraine’s relations with NATO. The sides noted the importance of holding a meeting of the Ukraine-NATO commission at the highest level during the Warsaw summit of the alliance in July this year.

“The president of Ukraine expressed hope Poland and other European states will apply personal sanctions against those involved in the fabrication of cases against Nadia Savchenko, Oleh Sentsov and other Ukrainian citizens illegally detained in Russia,” reads a statement.
