Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has asked Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman to install external control means (video camera surveillance) with long-term preservation of records in all regional centers, and, if necessary, in cities and district centers in the most crowded places and the areas close to them.

“Ensuring peace of mind and confidence of all citizens who live and reside in Ukraine in their security should be a priority in the activities of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine,” Poroshenko said in his letter to the head of government and Head of Kyiv City State Administration Vitali Klitschko.

The president noted the need to enhance responsiveness to offenses through the use of technical means of control of the situation in public places. He said the commitment of “a daring act of terrorism” in the central part of Kyiv requires strengthening measures to combat crime and maintain public safety and order in the capital and the regions of Ukraine.
