At a meeting at the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko has emphasized that nobody will avoid punishment for corruption.

“Nobody is safe from the Bureau’s attention and no connections will provide pardon or protection,” the president’s press service quoted Poroshenko as saying.

According to the head of state, the Bureau employs operative officers, analysts, law-enforcers and detectives, who have all the necessary functions to demonstrate the efficiency of the Ukrainian struggle against corruption to the Ukrainian people and to the entire world. “During the first days, the first weeks of their work they proved that the National Anti-Corruption Bureau has no banned areas or untouchables,” he said.

The president wished the newly appointed staff of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau’s Special Operations Department a successful struggle against corruption, which he called “the greatest evil that hinders the progress of the state.”
