Ukraine has for the first time fulfilled the conditions of the agreed program of cooperation with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has said.

“Ukraine, for the first time in the history of its cooperation with the IMF, fulfilled the program which has been agreed,” he said.

Poroshenko said that the fact that Ukraine has established successful cooperation with international financial institutions suggests that reforms are being carried out in the country.

“Last week Germany issued 200 million euros, which we now can temporarily use for gas purchases to ensure energy security in winter and which will be used to support reforms and the government’s efforts. European Commissioner Hahn has stated Europe is to issue 90 million euros to support decentralization,” he said.

Poroshenko said that the European Investment Bank and the World Bank also allocate funds to Ukraine.
