Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has signed law No. 1078-VIII on amendments to the Law of Ukraine on Public Procurements that will regulate the use of certain public funds on the territory of Donetsk region.

The law is designed to ensure the effective use of budget funds and state subsidies through the introduction of e-procurement of goods, works and services in Donetsk region, the presidential press service said.

The law amends Section 9, title “The Final and Transitional Provisions” of the Law on Public Procurements, according to which the Law on Public Procurements shall be applicable to procurements effected by local state administrations, local authorities and civil and military administrations on the territory of Donetsk region.

The signed law comes into force from the day following the date of its publication.

This document was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on April 12. It states that the transparent system of e-procurement by the state agencies in Donetsk region shall become effective from the date of the effect of the law rather than from August 1, 2017, as is not stipulated in Ukrainian legislation.
