President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko with his wife Maryna on Saturday commemorated victims of famines of 1932-1933 in Ukraine.

“The presidential spouse laid compositions of ears and arrow wood mixed with mourning colors to the Memorial in Commemoration of Famines’ Victims on Mykhailivska Square in Kyiv. They honored memory of everyone, who died in one of the most dreadful periods in the history of the Ukrainian people with a moment of silence and a low bow,” a president’s press service said.

They also placed icon lamps in front of the Memorial.Later on, the president will take part in the events at The Memorial in Commemoration of Famines’ Victims in Ukraine.
