Ukraine's former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko is getting necessary medical care in Kachanivska penal colony in Kharkiv, where she is currently held, the press service of the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine reported.

"She continues to receive medications prescribed by experts of the Health Ministry’s commission who examined her on January 4 this year," the statement said.

The Penitentiary Service noted that the ex-premier was inspected in jail by a medical team made up of leading specialists in different branches of medicine lead by Ukraine’s First Deputy Health Minister Raisa Moiseyenko. The specialists found the ex-prime minister to be in satisfactory health condition.

"Experts have made recommendations regarding Tymoshenko’s further medical treatment, in particular, [Tymoshenko was advised] to move more, have a remedial massage and do a range of physical therapy exercises," the ministry said.

However, on January 5-6, the ex-premier refused medical massage and fitness sessions, the State Penitentiary Service said.
