Criminal proceedings have been launched against the chairman of the committee on bidding at the Kyivpastrans municipal enterprise, as the committee purchased tramcars at a price Hr 11.1 million higher than the cost of similar trams from other producers, the media liaisons department of the Prosecutor General's Office reported on Tuesday.
The committee illegally chose the procedure for the procurement of trams from one participant and these cars were purchased at a price Hr 11.1 million higher than the cost of similar cars from other domestic manufacturers.
The prosecutor’s office in Kyiv included in the unified register of pre-trial investigations the information on the launch of criminal proceedings against the chairman of the committee on bidding at Kyivpastrans under Part 2, Article 364 of the Criminal Code.
The press service of the prosecutor’s office noted that the pre-trial investigation was underway.
