US President Barack Obama has not yet taken a decision regarding the provision of lethal weapons to Ukraine, US Ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey Pyatt has said.

“We do not exclude regarding our support in Ukraine’s security and defense sector… The statements that the president of my country has taken some final decision in one or another direction are not true,” he said at a press release in Kyiv on Friday, March 13.
He said that the United States has no doubts that Ukraine’s sovereignty is to be supported. The ambassador said that last year the United States provided Ukraine with $199 million in assistance for equipment and personnel training. In addition, U.S. Vice President Joe Biden told Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko this week that the United States will provide an additional non-lethal assistance worth $75 million to Ukraine for armored carriers, drones, radars that detect mortar fire, ciphony systems.
