The U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey Pyatt has said that the government of Arseniy Yatsenyuk achieved success in their actions.

“We all have enormous respect for what Prime Minister Yatsenyuk has accomplished since March. He and his government held an election that many people said would never happen, he and his government set the stage for the signature of the Association Agreement… he and his government achieved an IMF agreement,” he said at a briefing in Kyiv on July 25.

“[The government of former Prime Minister Mykola] Azarov never came close to [such achievements] during its time in office,” Pyatt added.

American ambassador said that Yatsenyuk had moved ahead on reforms intended to clean up much of the disaster of governance that former President Viktor Yanukovych’s years had bequeathed on the country.

“What I hear from my business interlocutors is enormous relief that the process of repairing that damage has advanced,” the ambassador said.

The U.S. ambassador said he was sure that the next government of Ukraine has to continue conducting serious economic reforms
